forgive me to bothering you again with this topic, but im concerned that no one got these or even considered getting a pair of the latest award-winning roksan piano-black standmount speakers kandy K2...

it seems that it doesnt get along with roksan fans by the lack of conversation on this topic... is it the price, the sound or the availability?

im trying to get a pair by convincing my hifi-store to sell me the speakers (only 1 in portugal) since the brand is new and forgotten amount portuguese audiophiles who tend to go for b&w or monitor audio.

should i forget about them and go for a b&w 684 floorstanders up to 900£ to replace my "lacking-of-bass" monitor audio bronze 6?

thanks for any insight and sorry once more Wink

    Welcome back.
    1) Have you not found that your bass on the bronzes has improved with the Roksan cables?
    2) What Hifi at one point combined Kandy amp and cd with the same speaker that I use (ATC SCM12), but these are (big) standmounters. Are you are looking for lots and lots of bass or a balanced sound? RSC would probably recommend Kefs, though I think you need big listening rooms for the larger ones.
    3) The reviews were good for Kandy speakers, so have them shipped surface from the UK, perhaps?

Also, I think that most people who answer on this forum have Roksan Vinyl players and/or Roksan Caspians of one sort or another. They are less likely to be buyers for Kandy speakers, and therefore will not have an opinion on them, which is obviously does not help you. Speakers are often a personal choice as to style of sound. Personally, I am quite happy to buy used speakers-so far I have bought 2 pairs new, 2 pairs used. Used is very good value for money!

    thanks for the welcoming kade.

    1) the Roksan cables improved the deepness of the sonic stage but didtn had that much HUMFFF to the sound, maybe its just a matterof setting correctly the triangular field.

    2) What-Hifi did award the trio of roksan cd+amp+speakers K2 but mention that speakers need more bass... which is what im looking for my small room.

    3) im trying hard to convince them to ship a pair to portugal but since im the only one in lisbon its not worth it i guess for them that is!

Another idea; if your local has Monitor Audio silvers, then try a listen to them. They are more highly thought of than the Bronzes. Personally, I have a great fondness for B & W speakers, which I use on my 2nd system., though not floorstanders. I prefer the balance which a big standmounter gives you.

    RSC would probably recommend Kefs

Hmmm, maybe once upon a time (read on ...).

The truth is, the KEFs I know/knew are all now old models and therefore only available secondhand.

Given that "Soundzen" is in a small room, I wouldn't suggest a large floorstander - you are right, the larger KEFs I used worked better in bigger rooms - I couldn't get them to work in my 4.2 x 3.6 metre room, too much bass, also poor bass definition without the ports blocked... and still they weren't quite right! So these were sold a few months ago.

Haven't heard the Kandy loudspeakers, but suspect they will be more about better detail than about bass - look at the cabinet sizes! Small cabinet seldom = deep bass.

As I now work for a loudspeaker manufacturer (who have not been mentioned in this thread), I will refrain from making recommendations - don't want to break the AUP - I can say that my employers' products are not currently distributed in Portugal.

dear all, my system is taking shape fast! my turntable is 90% ready awaiting the replacement parts and my cd-amp combo are inpacient to play intune with the rest of the roksan family.

im only missing the standmount speakers k2 which im ordering today since i managed to sell my monitor audio bronze 6.

can someone tell me if the k2 speakers have holes on the "the sole of her shoes" for me to fix spikes?

have a happy easter, my friends.

well, i guess the spikes are fixed to the standmount´s base itself and are pointing straight up to receive the speaker - instead of the oposite like with floorstanders... my poor piano-black finish! Rolling Eyes

Gorgeous system Soundzen, how are the speakers, are they ribbon tweeters?,if so they'll super fast, fantastically clear, revealing and precise,so much so some folk thats not familiar found the resolving power of such tweeters a bit hot and clinical, hence they are fussy on good electronics, matched well they are fantastic,i bet the Roksan electronics will be voiced to match,PRAT,dynamics, punchy tight bass.....etc.

A wee review would be nice. Very Happy
