    Welcome Roksan Fans,

As many others before, after a few years of lucky operation I have encountered well known problems with CD reading in Caspian CD MK 1. It simply does not recognize some discs and it does not matter if they are printed or recorded (often the discs that it used to read before).
I have alredy learnt from the forum that the best way to fix the problem is to send the player to Roksan to have it serviced. I would do it for sure, if I only lived in UK. It is however a bit more cumbersome and costly from my country.
That is why I am looking for advice if there is something I can do myself to fix the player. I have seen in other posts that Roksan gave some of you some hints how it possibly can be sorted out. Could share this experience with me? I am not affraid of soldering and electronics.
I am looking forward to some good news and regards to everybody.

Try emailing Roksan, they will take a while to reply (at least a week) but they give detailed replies and this may enable you to do the work yourself. (No experience with Caspian I'm afraid, my queries were about Radius 5 turntable).

    Mark.

Please note the Mk I is now 10 years old and probably requires a minor service. The service procedure is well documented and parts etc. supported by us so your Roksan distributor or local service centre can carry out the service. The service is easy and should take approx. couple of hrs. Contact your distributor or Roksan for details.

I wouldn't bother with a service...I just had mine done by Roksan and it still won't read some CDs. I really don't know why, it's not a CD quality issue as I've had this problem with CDs I've bought from HMV and on the other hand sometimes it will play CDrs. Beats me.

This is most unusual. At Roksan we service many of our CD players even as far back as the DP1 (Last made 15 yrs ago!). The service makes a huge difference, both in performance and playability.
We are very concerned if your player is not performing as it should. In fact I have just spoken to the service engineer who serviced your CD player. He will contact you to discuss this matter in order to rectify any issue that may still exist. We are confident of the quality of service provided by Roksan and any servicing that is done by us carries a full year warranty.
We still recommend the service as this will definitely add to the longevity of the CD player and enhance performance.
