i made some cleaning over my online album of my hifi system
who posted already knows how it looks like and know the topics
there will always be new ones so dont worry for the blank portraits

this week i will ship to touraj the circuit board which has broken parts
ive been tempted by a pro-ject and a rega at really low discount prices
but im trying hard not to give up on this roksan beauty radius 3 turtable

found out i need a new arm because the lifting handle is missing oil and drops to fast on the vinil but - trying to regulate its height to avoid the needle touching the LP near its center even with the arm lifted up... at half way the arm drops by itself without the pumping oil on the well!

What Davie said....the Tabriz is a fine arm so it would be a shame to change it. At some stage you could send it off to Roksan for the zi upgrade and they may be able to sort out the arm lift damping for you.

I recently acquired a Tabriz on eBay which I've now fitted to my old mk1 Xerxes XPS2 as I'm intending to use this to do some digitizing of my record collection. I've been surprised at how close this combination gets to my Xerxes X / Artemiz combination.

I'm really sorry you've had to jump through so many hoops in order to get your Radius running but do stick with it. I'm sure Mr T would have directed you in another direction if he thought it wasn't worth the effort.

Keep posting the photos - we may not always comment but we're all watching!

i sent the electronic board to touraj for it to fix it and try to end the heating of it while playing... about the arm not having oil it will be changed by a rega B300 so im good with this technical support on recovering my dear radius 3.

Hi Soundzen,i am not sure getting a Rega is the right way to go,the rb250/300 are good arms but not giant killers as some would have us believe, once modded it's a different story.

Since you have sent the board to Roksan for repairs, why not ask if you could buy some oil to charge up the lifting mechanism,if you're not confident in doing it yourself,is there a hi fi dealer or electronic repair shop near you who could do the work?,as others have said keep us posted and don't give up on the Tabriz yet.

    Chin up,

    WCP.

dear wee, unfortunetly rega 300 will have to do for the price and its not about oil which i can get = its that the sphere inside the wel is jammed and wont go anywhere as my technician tried to fix it... its stuck due to the misuse by previous owners.. the price to pyfor second-hand. i know the tabriz is better but without burying more cash on the TT, i can make it work by changing the board and the arm for now. thx for advice, always apreciated!

Hi Soundzen,so sorry to hear your tale of woe,i can't get my head round how ham fisted the previous owner must have been, without pictures of the damaged sphere and well, one can only assume something was dropped on it to cause such damage, was this mentioned when you purchased the tt?,if not i wonder if you could contact the previous owner about compensating you.

    Good luck with the rb300.

    Regards,

    WCP.

well we dont see eye to eye since i told him the truth about the poor state he sold m the radius and lost credibility to other moderators at the forum over his suposed ready-to-play TT. my payback was served and its time to move one... a tweak there another here, soon the radius will be up and running - new arm and new board! if it bursts into flames within a year since its a 1989 model, iwill have save money for a rega P3/24 Wink

    Hi Soundzen,

Any updates on your tt ?,are you sorted with the rb300?,if not i have a rb250 sitting idle on a old Ariston rd40,owned by me since new,it's a bit tatty but i can get J7 at Audioorigami to upgrade it and chrome plate it Cool ,believe me i've seen it and it's the dog's danglie's,always meaning to get it upgraded to go with the Ariston but never got round to it.

I am willing to let you have for free to help a fellow Roksanite out of trouble, therefore all you have to do is pay J7 whatever you want done to it,he's a great guy to deal with and veeery reasonable, let me know you're thoughts and we'll take it from there.

    Regards,

    WCP.

Good show, glad to hear everything is coming together nicely now,you could maybe ebay your Tabriz for spares and try to recoup a bit of the cost.

omg! touraj did it again - he saved my tt but also the tabriz... i asked him to fix the board and he did but the suprise was the inclusion of a new lever pump to levitate the arm which mine was damaged and dropped the tabriz to fast upon the lp... wow what a great suprise inside the box! thank you a million! hope this weekend i will enjoy my radius now and forever - up and running!

I am really happy for you Soundzen,it's nice to know a manufacturer go the extra mile for their customer Cool ,not like the maker of my phonostage who basically told me i was on my own when i encountered a problem when i got my new cartridge, and i bought it new as well.
